Online Art classes for Teenagers on Thursday afaternoon 15.00 to 17.00 CET CET. Please convert the time to where you are.
Learn how to paint from a professional artist!
I am an internationally exhibited Dutch, professional artist, living in La Herradura, in southern Spain. I’ve been conducting art classes since 2006. Since the lockdown here in Spain (March 2020) I’ve started conducting art classes online!
These are online, weekly painting classes for teenagers offered on a 4-week basis, to be paid in advance. I’ve opted for this 4-week option so that you, as a parent, don’t have to worry about having to commit to an entire season. However, if you like to try it first you can book just 1 or 2 classes, scroll down for more information. Your teenager can also start when a 4-week class has already started, as all the teenagers are working on their own pace and subject. Minimum number of participants 5.
Some children finish a painting in one session, others take longer and that is fine. The objective is to get some tools to express creativity with colours, learn how to mix, learn about different painting techniques and find a style that you are comfortable with. I do believe that free expression in painting (even abstract if you like) is important, but before you can do that, it is important to know what the colours do, how you can use your tools and have fun in the process. During a zoom class with other teenagers they can interact, which is also a benefit during these times of Covid19.
I’ve chosen to create these classes for the age-group of 13-19 years old. The reason being is that, in my experience, it is nice to have teenagers of a similar age group, as the level of painting will be similar.
However, I also provide private classes, see below, or, on request, I can create a different class for younger teenagers, (11 to 13). I would need at least 4 children participating in such a class. Feel free to contact me via firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss options. The price is the same as for the Saturday afternoon painting class.
The classes are taking place via a Zoom connection, for which you will receive an invitation via email or messenger (your choice). And yes an online art class really works. I can guide the painting process, provide examples and suggestions when someone gets stuck and create a safe space to develop individual painting skills.
This is an ongoing class and can be renewed every 4 weeks. If your child cannot make it to a class you can let me know at the latest 24 hours in advance and then he or she can take part in the class you paid for the following week.
We work with acrylics and below you will find a link where I explain what materials are needed. The very first class I will send you an image to work from so I can get an idea of the level of painting skill. After that your child can work from an example of their own choice, or I can provide an image to work from.
You don’t need to invest huge amounts of money as in theory you only need five colours to create all the colours of the rainbow. Most, if not all, of these can be ordered online.
These classes are suitable for beginners and teenagers with some painting experience. I’ve conducted art classes since 2006 and I love to encourage and help people to get to their next level. I’ve also been teaching teenagers on a weekly basis in my studio in southern Spain and I love it when I see them develop and become more comfortable with regards to their own creativity. A few of the images on this page were taken during some of these teenager classes in my studio!
You can either pay for a 4-week course, the cost for this is 80 Euros (please convert to your own currency) or you can pay for 1 or 2 classes (if spaces are available). Price per class is 22.50 Euros. to be paid in advance via PayPal or bank transfer.
