Chorizo and chickpeas


Now if you are one of our Spanish readers you might not be so impressed with this recipe a similar dishes might be on your menu regularly but for our foreign readers we would like to give this simple and Spanish tasting recipe.


Jar of garbanzos

5 or six fresh chorizo sausages

Spanish green pepper

3 cloves of garlic

1 small leak

1 small onion

1 or 2 medium sized carrots

3 fresh tomatoes

2 bay leaves

salt and pepper to taste



Take off the skin of the chorizo sausages and cut into chunks.

Glaze the onion and the garlic and add the chorizo sausages, stir for a few minutes.

Add the chopped leaks, carrots, pepper and tomatoes and 2 bay leaves.

Sprinkle with some salt and pepper and add some water. Not too much as the tomatoes will create juice.

Put a lid on the pan and cook for about haf an hour, stirring every now and then, make sure it doesn’t burn, if necessary add some water.

Then add the jar of garbanzos with its juice.

Heat through, take out the bay leaves and serve.
