Frikadelles
Ingredients:
400 grams of mincemeat, a combination of beef and pork
1 egg
Breadcrumbs, about 4 tablespoons
3 or 4 tablespoons of grated Padano cheese
Half a medium sized onion finely chopped
Paprika powder, garlic powder, pepper, salt and a little bit of curry powder, not too much as this can be overwhelming the taste.
Olive oil or butter
Preparation
Mix all the ingredients, add some more breadcrumbs if the mixture is too wet. Create the frikadelles, either balls or hamburger shaped pieces and set aside.
Heat some olive oil or butter or a mixture of the two in a frying pan.
Add the frikadelles and fry until golden brown on one side and then the other side until golden brown, almost crispy. You can either do this on a not so high heat and keep moving them so they don’t burn or you can, after they are browned on the outside, add some water and put a lid on the frying pan until the frikadelles are cooked.
You can serve these hot or at room temperature with a meal or as a snack with some mustard.
