Almuñécar has reopened the summer tourist service for the fourth consecutive year.
From the 1st of July till the end of June the service referred to as SATE will be operative from the premises of the Municipal Office of Tourism in Almuñécar. This is located in the ‘Palacete de La Najarra’ which is the same building where the Tourist Office is housed. Avd. Europa s/n
Present at the presentation of this municipal Act were the Deputy Mayor, Juan José Ruiz Joya; the Councillor of tourism and trade, Rafael Caballero, together with the local heads of the Guardia Civil and the Local police, José Manuel Lebrón and Manuel Ledesma, respectively.
The main objective of this service for in specific foreign tourists is to increase the citizen security in tourist areas by providing a safer environment for tourists during their stay in Spain, and in this case, the municipality of Almuñécar, which includes La Herradura.
“This is not just an exclusive service for foreign tourists, but for all residents and visitors. This is about a collaboration between the Guardia Civil and the Local police. With the intention to make visitors feel more protected and better attended whilst receiving information in a language they can understand, specialized “.
During the months of July and August, there will be a member of the Civil Guard and one of the Local police of Almuñécar, on a permanent basis, seven days a week, morning and afternoon, coinciding with the cited tourist information office hours. The attention will be personalized and people can be attended in French, German, English and Arabic. There will be interpreters to facilitate the formalities that have to be done.
